In the European Union, the built environment is responsible for 36% of greenhouse gas emissions. ABN AMRO, which holds €156 billion in residential mortgages (constituting 62% of its balance sheet), has set ambitious targets for real estate decarbonization. We have identified a gap in solutions for apartment owners within VvEs (homeowners associations). How? A customer centric end-to-end sustainability renovation package that focuses on tailored decision making advisory and financing for home-owners associations.

How to decrease microagressions and discrimination from colleagues at work? This problem puts mental pressure, causes stress, and falling out of work amongst underrepresented groups. How to change it? By re-program habits for colleagues. We are developing a track that sparks behavioral change within managers to help create a safer and more inclusive work environment, mainly aimed at people from underrepresented communities. We do this as a part of the Wellbeing Leadership program which is an initiative to promote behavioral change among leaders to create better work environments. This initiative is a collaboration between The Micro Habit Company and Zilveren Kruis and focuses on creating behavioral change through changing habits.

impact case

Paycheck’ed is a initiative that tackles the gender pay gap and career stagnation of women in the workforce. Despite growing awareness, many women still face unequal pay and limited career opportunities due to outdated structures and a lack of workplace flexibility. Paycheck’ed provides a data-driven solution that helps companies assess and correct pay disparities, implement transparent career progression paths, and create supportive workplace policies. By combining technology, research, and strategic partnerships, we empower businesses to build fairer work environments where women can thrive. Our goal is to drive real, measurable change—ensuring that equal work truly means equal pay.

Living in a digital world means that children experience more and more screen time. As a result, there is a strong increase in myopia among young children. In Asia, almost 80% of youngsters have myopia and in the Netherlands this is already 56%. This leads to serious health problems later in life, such as poor vision and blindness. In addition, it brings major social problems and high social costs, such as learning disabilities and loss of productivity. To counter this, a lifestyle intervention is necessary: children need to go outside more, because sufficient outdoor light is essential for the development of the eye. In addition, parents need to be more aware of the guidelines regarding screen time. We want to achieve this by offering an additional service in line with the 20-20-2 rule of ‘Het Oogfonds’, in which (primary school) children are challenged to go outside more using a wristband with a GPS tracker.

impact case

The journey of motherhood including breastfeeding brings a lot of stress, especially to women in underserved communities who already face a lot of stress (no social support, financial stress and many others). We want to collaborate with (social) organizations that are close with mothers in these communities. We want to support these women with their breastfeeding journey by providing access to simplified information in more than 20 languages and increase the accessibility to breast pumps. We are in advance discussions with Neos to start a pilot in one of their shelters and work collaboratively to develop a scale up template that could be used by other organizations.

impact case

At PwC, there are already many talented colleagues with a disability. We want to enrich our organization with more colleagues who have a disability. Both with talents who have been hired and have been with us for a long time, as well as those who were not hired, the importance of an Ability Office has become clear. One central place with a champion dedicated to this topic. Someone who helps from the recruitment and application process to the personal development of talents who have been with us for a longer time.
